This release of GridBike is mainly to add a couple of enhancements benefiting
from my work on Coblyn, plus
there’s a fix to get around a drawing problem on some machines with Intel
GPUs:

Added some simple sound effects.

Added full–screen mode.

Added an options screen for adjusting the sound volume and toggling the
full–screen mode.

Fixed a drawing problem with the buttons on some machines with integrated GPUs.

Other small improvements and fixes.

Website Cleanup

Some of the apps on my website had reached the end of their life, so I’ve
retired them. It’s goodbye to Blue Fang and
GrafAuto (poor old Palm OS died a long, long time ago),
and the C64 Screen Saver (which was only ever a toy).

I’ve also made some small improvements to my website. First, the Software
item in the menu bar now drops down a sub–menu which lets you go directly
to the page for each app (unless your browser is too ancient… I’m
looking at you, IE6). Secondly, I’ve improved the image galleries to make
them more convenient and more responsive. Now you only need to mouse over the
thumbnails to switch images, and all images are preloaded so there’s no
waiting when you switch between them.

Coblyn 3.1.0

For this release I’ve tried to address as many of Coblyn’s rough
edges as I could. So there aren’t any big new features this time, but
there are lots of improvements to the game graphics and the user interface, plus
a few bug fixes:

Improved the appearance of the boulder (roughened), the diamond
(transparency and random sparkles), and the butterfly.

The Start screen now allows the cave and level to be set by pressing the
appropriate letter key (for the cave) or number key (for the level).

Bonus caves now become selectable on the Start screen once the preceding
cave has been completed at all difficulty levels. For example, bonus cave Q
appears after D–1 through D–5 have been completed.

Improved support for BDCFF level packs.

[Windows] Fixed a problem where full–screen mode wasn’t
always restored when the app was restarted.

Lots of small improvements and fixes.

Coblyn 3.0.3

Coblyn has been fully revamped, with the biggest change being that it’s
now available for Windows as well as OS X! Other changes
in this major release are:

All new graphics.

All new user interface.

The window can be resized any way you like, and the game scales to fit (it also
does full-screen).

Improved sound effects.

The built-in level pack has been greatly improved, and now contains 100 levels
(up from 20).

Levels are now organized by cave and difficulty.

Added level unlocking. Previously Coblyn started with all levels available, but
now you must earn them.

Smoother animation.

Support for caves that wrap from side-to-side or top-to-bottom.

Improved BDCFF support.

If you’re upgrading from version 2 of Coblyn and have previously
downloaded the Classic Level Pack, then you should re-download it to get the
latest version. This will ensure that the Classic Levels draw with the right
colours and make use of level unlocking.

I’m very satisfied with how this version of Coblyn turned out —
it’s much closer to what I envisioned when I originally starting writing
this game. I hope you like it too!
